St Mary's Church, Aylesbury

Friends of St Mary's

The Friends of St Mary's were formed in 1979 under the Chairmanship of Sir John Aubrey-Fletcher. At this time the church was being re-ordered so that as well as being primarily a place of worship it could be developed as a resource for the community. The Friends of St Mary's became a Registered Charity in 1982 (No. 284535) and have the following aims:

The Friends have provided robes and books for the church choir, and commissioned a ceremonial cope from the Sarum Embroiderer's Guild. For several years the Friends arranged a week-long Festival of Art and Music on the anniversary of the re-dedication in May. At present the main activity of the Friends is arranging weekly lunchtime concerts on Thursdays, now in their twenty-fifth year.

~~~New Members Wanted~~~
Membership of the Friends of St. Marys is neither limited to members of the congregation or indeed practicing Christians. To qualify to be a Friend, all you need is an interest in the fabric and mission of the Church and a desire to see it furthered for future generations.
