We follow the Common Worship provision for our Eucharist service on
a Sunday at 10am, and the 1662 Book of Common Prayer at 8am. Our
worship is in the catholic tradition (use of vestments, occasional
incense, Reservation of the Sacrament), though in a central/modern
form. We have a robed choir and a team of altar-servers at
the main Sunday Eucharist. Incense is used at certain festivals. Our
worship is inclusive, with children gathering at the altar at the
beginning of the service, before going to their own worship, tempering
our 'traditional' approach with a little informality. Our hymnody is
also broad and varied with the 'old favourites' and modern worship
songs. With the advent of current technology, we have access to all
hymn-books, so not limited to one style.
Parents with toddlers are particularly welcome. A safe space with toys is provided!
Morning Prayer (Common Worship) is said in St Luke's Chapel Monday-Friday at 9.15 am.
There are many ways in which the congregation is involved in
our worship, for example by reading or being intercessors or servers.
Please speak to a member of the clergy, if you would be interested in
joining either our Servers Team, Reader Team or Intercession Team.
These are wonderful ways of being involved in the worship life of this
church. You would be most welcome!
Fairtrade tea and coffee are available after the service.
