Last year I took part in a very interesting project. One day I found an advertisement in our local newspaper. The advertisement said: donate scrap silver to help our local schools. Of course, I didn"t know what it was all about but I kept on reading. One of the most popular non-profit organizations in our area had just launched a new project. They encouraged inhabitants of our city to donate scrap silver to help develop some of the poorest schools in the area. The city is quite popular among investors, and prices of gold are exceptionally high so that was really a very good idea. The organization would later look for a buyer and sell the gold. I knew immediately that I wanted to take part in the project. I had some experience as an investor, but unfortunately, I could not offer any scrap gold at the time. But I had a slightly different idea. I called the organization on the same afternoon and offered to volunteer in the selection of scrap silver donated for the project. I explained that I could decide if the objects donated were worth any money and how to get the highest possible amount for them. Of course, they accepted my offer. I guess that it"s not really unusual to find a volunteer in such an easy way. I took part in the project and demanded no pay for it.
